The realization of specialized spaces is always a test for a designer. It is impossible to just create a pretty picture here, as strict technical regulations and human safety come first.
In this 100 m² project, our team was tasked with developing a comprehensive ecosystem where high-tech functionality seamlessly merges with clean architectural aesthetics.
What was behind the scenes of the project?
We completely covered four key engineering and design stages, integrating them into a single, fully operational system:
Architectural Solutions: We executed smart linear zoning and ergonomic layout of laboratory islands. At the same time, we preserved the large historic arched windows that provide maximum natural light.
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning): We calculated the airflow balance, integrated a high-capacity fume hood, and designed the supply and exhaust ventilation system. This forms the foundation that guarantees 100% safety during daily work with chemical reagents.
Electrical Solutions: We designed uniform ceiling lighting that completely eliminates shadows over the research areas. We also supplied independent power sources directly to each student workstation.
Functionality in every millimeter Every element of the interior follows the logic of the laboratory workflow. The work surfaces of the islands feature a specialized coating resistant to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures. Hermetic cabinets for glassware and reagents are positioned to keep everything accessible yet completely secure.
When all stages of a project — from space planning to complex engineering — are managed under one roof, the resulting space is not only safe but also visually lightweight. We have created a modern and inspiring hub for future scientists.
